Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we want to provide you with an update of the current services that we can offer you when arranging a funeral. We understand this is a difficult time for the bereaved and want to assure you, we are here to help every step of the way.
There have been a lot of changes to the way Cemeteries and Crematoriums in Aylesbury operate during the Covid-19 pandemic; when booking a funeral our staff will discuss what is in place at your chosen service venue.
For burials, only graveside services are allowed and only a limited number of family members. When attending a funeral, we politely advise that you respect the guidelines on social distancing.
We want to help as much as we can in terms of costs as we understand so many people will be facing financial difficulty through this period. Therefore, we are reducing our professional fees by £200.00
What to do when someone dies
Registering the death
You will be required to register the person’s death by telephone with the registrar in the subdistrict in which the death occurred. The registration should be done by a relative or an executor and will be by appointment only. Once you have registered the death, we can handle all the arrangements for you or help guide and advise you.
Arranging a funeral
When arranging a funeral with Legacy please advise us as soon as you can if the deceased was infected with the Corona Virus so our staff can take the necessary precautions for their safety.
In line with the Government’s recommendations we advise that most arrangements should be made over the phone with us.
Visits should be kept to a minimum for your safety. We are happy to come to deliver and collect necessary paperwork and clothing. Our brochure and services are all available on our website.
Chapel visits are fine but in keeping with the government guidelines we will only permit a maximum of 2 people at a time in the chapel of rest.
Our service chapel is still available for funeral services. But limited to only immediate family.
We will arrange an officiant to take the service and they will contact you to plan the service over the phone and by email.
Whilst these procedures are not ideal and take away some of the personalisation of arranging a funeral we feel the precautions are absolutely necessary for the safety of our dedicated staff and the families we are looking after. It is our mission to ensure each funeral is conducted with the same level of care and professionalism whilst working within these limitations and our intention is always to give families the best service we can whilst keeping everyone safe.
We sincerely thank you for your co-operation and understanding at this difficult time.
